<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 - 25 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION DISPENSING WITH THE REQ UEST FOR <br />QUALIFICATIONS (R.F.Q.) PROCESS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN <br />THE SERVICES OF A PLANS EXAMINER AND BACK-UP PLANS <br />EXAMINER AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />THREE (3) YEAR CONTRACT WITH JEFFREY GRUSENMEYER <br />AS PLANS EXAMINER AND NICK del GIUDICE AS BACK-UP <br />PLANS EXAMINER. <br />WHEREAS, this Council previously authorized the Director of Planning and <br />Development to request qualifications for a Plans Examiner and Back-Up Plans Examiner <br />to work with the City's Building Department staff and be responsible for informing the <br />Chief Building Official as to compliance or non-compliance with most current codes <br />designated by the State Board of Building Standards for structures larger than three <br />family and any related accessory structures; and <br />WHEREAS, the current contracts with the Plans Examiner and Back-Up Plans <br />Examiner expire on June 28, 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, Messrs. Grusenmeyer and del Giudice have served the City of North <br />Olmsted in their respective roles in a competent and skilled fashion since 2003, delivering <br />excellent service at reasonable cost; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Development has requested that this <br />Council dispense with provisions of Chapter 112 of the North Olmsted Codified <br />Ordinances, requiring a R.F.Q. process to select the City's Plans Examiner and Back-Up <br />Plans Examiner to work with the City's Building Department staff and further requests <br />that the Council authorize the Mayor to enter into new three (3) year contracts with <br />Messrs. Grusenmeyer and del Giudice to provide such services, respectively; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director of Planning <br />and Development, it is the desire of this Council to dispense with the R.F.Q. process to <br />select a Plans Examiner and Back-Up Plans Examiner and, further, to authorize the <br />Mayor to enter into a three (3) year contract with Mr. Grusenmeyer and Mr. del Giudice <br />to serve as Plans Examiner and Back-Up Plans Examiner, respectively. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a three <br />(3) year contract with Mr. Jeffrey Grusenmeyer as Plans Examiner and Mr. Nick del <br />Giudice as Back-Up Plans Examiner to provide services to the Building Department of <br />;.?.
