CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013 - 26 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />FIVE (5) YEAR CONTRACT WITH AUTOMATION MAILING AND <br />SHIPPING SOLUTIONS TO PROVIDE MAILING AND POSTAGE <br />SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the current postage machine lease ends in March of 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposal from Automation Mailing and Shipping Solutions, Inc. <br />exceeds the Mayor's contact authority of $5,000.00 ($7,140.00) and requires the <br />execution of a contract as opposed to the mere usage of a purchase order; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director of Public <br />Service, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into a five (5) year <br />contract with Automation Mailing and Shipping Solutions, Inc. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />lw. SECTION L• That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a five <br />(5) year contract with Automation Mailing and Shipping Solutions, Inc. to provide a <br />postage machine and related services. Said contract shall be in substantially the same <br />form and substance as the contract attached hereto as Exhibit A, with only such changes <br />thereto as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director <br />of Law. The character of any such changes as not being substantially adverse to the City <br />shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and the <br />approval of the agreement by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect <br />immediately due to the expiration of the current lease in March of 2013; and provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />First Reading: <br />Second Reading: jz,,fpf rv)vr <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee: _dj,tf(1y
