CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2013 - 32 BY: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 159 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ENTITLED "CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION" IN ORDER TO RENAME THE COMMISSION, REDEFINE MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS AND ESTABLISHNEW DUTIES. WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Development has recommended that the existing Cultural Activities Commission be replaced with a new Arts Commission and that the Commission, as amended, be charged with continuing to promote the fine, performing and cultural arts in the community; and WHEREAS, the proposed Arts Commission will expand membership to include members with diverse artistic skills and interests and, further, would be actively involved in the planning and organizing of City events and public art; and WHEREAS, the Arts Commission will assist the administration in supporting community activities and events that promote the City's residential and business communities; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to amend and replace Chapter 159 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: That Chapter 159 "Cultural Activities Commission" which presently reads in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, shall be amended and, as amended, shall read in its entirety as replacement Chapter 159 "Arts Commission" as set forth in Exhibit B, as both Exhibits are attached to this Ordinance and incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein. SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with this Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. Conflicting or inconsistent provisions of any Ordinance shall be corrected at re-codification. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest date provided for by law.
