CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2013 - 39 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy and Council Member Schumann <br />AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE CHARLES ALDEN SELTZER <br />HOME, LOCATED AT 30095 LORAIN ROAD, AS AN OFFICIAL NORTH <br />OLMSTED LANDMARK PURSUANT TO CODE SECTION 165.05. <br />WHEREAS, the Landmarks Commission of the City of North Olmsted has proposed, <br />pursuant to Article 7, Section 6 of the Charter and Code Section 165.05, to designate the Charles <br />Alden Seltzer Home, located at 30095 Lorain Road, as an official Landmark within the City of <br />North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, the Landmarks Commission has performed historical research, assembled <br />documentation and photographs, prepared extensive findings and reports and conducted hearings <br />required by Code Section 165.05(b) in order to determine and recommend Landmark designation <br />for the Charles Alden Seltzer Home, which final report is incorparated herein by reference; and <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Planning and Design Commission has, pursuant to Code <br />Section 165.05(b)(5), affirmatively concurred with the Proposal by the Landmarks Commission <br />to formally designate the Charles Alden Seltzer Home as a Landmark; and <br />? WHEREAS, the current owner of the Charles Alden Seltzer Home was served with <br />? notification of the Proposal by and hearing before the Landmarks Commission pursuant to Code <br />Section 165.05(b)(6) and consented with respect to Landmark designation; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council finds and approves the Proposal by Landmarks Commission, <br />both as to substance and procedure, pursuant to Code Section 165.05(b)(9) and further concurs <br />with the observations and recognition bestowed upon the Charles Alden Seltzer Home as well as <br />the descendants, many of whom continue to reside in and enrich the North Olmsted community; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, consistent with the recommendation of the <br />Landmarks Commission, to approve the designation of the Charles Alden Seltzer as an official <br />North Olmsted Landmark pursuant to Code Section 165.05(b)(9) and joins with the Landmarks <br />Commission in bestowing a plaque upon the property in recognition. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby accept and agree with the proposal by the <br />Landmarks Commission and therefore does hereby approve and designate the Charles Alden <br />Seltzer Home, located at 30095 Lorain Road, as an official Landmark of the City of North <br />Olmsted, pursuant to North Olmsted Codified Section 165.05(b)(9). This Council does hereby <br />"? adopt and incorporate by reference the Proposal report as prepared and submitted by Landmarks
