? BE AMENDED AND, AS AMENDED, SHALL READ AS FOLLOWS: <br />? 1901.11 FAIR HOUSING REVIEW BOARD. <br />(a) There is hereby created a Fair Housing Review Board, which shall consist <br />of five members, including the Mayor or his or her designee, a member of City Council, <br />and three citizen members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council. Of <br />the citizen members first appointed, one shall be appointed for a term of one year, one for <br />a term of two years, and one for a term of three years, and thereafter appointments shall <br />be for three years. The City Council appointee may serve for a term of four years, or <br />as may be appointed by Council, and so long as said appointee is and remains a <br />member of Council. <br />(b) The Fair Housing Review Board shall have the responsibility to administer <br />the provisions of this chapter and to adjudicate complaints alleging violations of Section <br />1901.07. All administrative proceedings prescribed in this chapter shall be conducted at <br />the Board's expense. The Board shall have and may exercise the following powers to <br />implement the purposes of this chapter: <br />(1) To hold adjudicative hearings, make findings of fact, issue orders, <br />enforce such orders, and seek judicial and/or administrative relief <br />with respect to any such complaints in accordance with the <br />provisions of this chapter; <br />(2) To subpoena witnesses, compel their attendance, administer oaths, <br />take sworn testimony, and, in connection therewith, to require the <br />production for examination of any documents relating to any <br />matter under investigation or in question before the Board, and <br />enforce such powers by proper petition to any court of competent <br />jurisdiction; <br />(3) To adopt such rules and regulations as the Board may deem <br />necessary or desirable for the conduct of its business and to carry <br />out the purposes of this chapter; and <br />(4) To do such other acts as are necessary and proper to perform those <br />duties with which the Board is charged under this chapter. <br />(Ord. 98-85.
