CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2013 - 86 BY: Mayor Kennedy A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT TO REQUEST PROPOSALS ("RFPs') FROM QUALIFIED FIRMS TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL PLANNING SERVICES FOR THE 2015 MASTER PLAN UPDATE AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF C0IVTROL, TO ENTER INTO A PERSONAL SERVICES COA'TRACT WITH THE FIRM SELECTED IN THE RFP PROCESS. WHEREAS, the current master plan was adopted in 2005 and the City Charter requires that the master plan be updated every ten (10) years; and WHEREAS, the ten (10) year review allows the City to update the master plan in order to respond to changing development patterns, shifting demographics and emerging community needs; and WHEREAS, the services of a professional planning consultant to assist with the process of updating the 2005 Master Plan are essential to the successful development and implementation of the revised plan; and WHEREAS, the process of updating the master plan is expected to take between twelve (12) to eighteen (18) months to complete; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the request from the Administration, it is the desire of this Council to so authorize the Director of Planning and Development to solicit RFPs from qualified professional planning service providers to provide professional planning services for the update of the 2005 Master Plan, and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a personal services contract with the firm selected in the RFP process upon approval of the Board of Control. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RES'OLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CO UNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STfI TE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she hereby is authorized to solicit proposals fi•om qualified professional planning service providers to provide professional planning services for the update of the 2005 Master Plan.
