i CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2013 - 96 BY: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE FOR THE REMOVAL OFALL SIGNAGE RELATED TO THE ST. RICHARD SCHOOL ZONE ON LORAIN ROAD IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. WHEREAS, St. Richard School ceased operations in June of 2013; and WHEREAS, a portion of Lorain Road remains designated as a school zone; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety that the school zone designation, together with all signage, be eliminated from the Traffic Control File; and WHEREAS, this Council, based upon this recommendation, has determined that it is in the best interest of the safety, health and welfare of the citizens of the City of North Olmsted to accordingly remove a school zone designation that is no longer needed, and accordingly, by the adoption of this ordinance, expresses its desire to do so; and WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traftic Control File, which file can be amended only by ordinance duly adopted by this Council. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND THE STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and the same is hereby authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to remove the school zone designation on Lorain Road in proximity to the former St. Richard School. SECTION 2: That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized to remove signage and other markings, as appropriate, at the location described herein at section one (1). SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest date provided for by law.
