? <br />,.? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2006 - 202 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />AN ORDINANCE A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PLANNING TO REQUEST PROPOSALS FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />CONSULTING SERVICES TO AUGMENT AND ASSIST THE <br />CITY'S DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING; AND FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF <br />THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO AN <br />A GREEMENT WITH THE PERSON OR FIRM SELECTED IN <br />THE RFP PROCESS. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Planning has recommended to this Council that it <br />authorize her, pursuant to the provisions of Sections 111.03 et seq. of the North Olmsted <br />Codified Ordinances, to initiate an RFP process to select a qualified person or firm to <br />provide professional economic development consulting services to augment and assist the <br />City's Department of Planning in its economic development duties; and <br />WHEREAS, the consultant selected would coordinate economic development <br />efforts in the City, and would have responsibility for, among other things, business <br />recruitment and marketing, business retention and expansion, market analysis, and <br />business resource for incentive programs; and <br />WHEREAS, the consultant would report to the Director of Planning, and the term <br />of the initial contract would be for one year, after which the consultant's performance and <br />benefit to the City would be evaluated; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director of Planning, <br />it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning to request proposals <br />from persons and/or firms qualified to provide professional economic development <br />consulting services to augment and assist the City's Department of Planning, and further <br />to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the person and/ar firms selected in <br />the RFP process and approved by the Board of Control; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO:
