BY: Mayor O'Grady and Council Members Dailey Jones and Barker <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 713 OF THE B USINESS <br />REGULATION CODE, ENTITLED "LICENSING OF RENTAL <br />UNITS, " IN ORDER TO PRO VIDE FOR THE LICENSING OF ONE, <br />TWO AND THREE FAMILY RENTAL UNITS IN THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, AND TO ESTABLISH A NEW LICENSING FEE <br />AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 713 of the Business Regulation Code currently requires the <br />licensing of all apartment buildings containing four or more apartments; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council finds that, in order to protect the quality of the housing <br />stock in North Olmsted, it is important to license also one, two and three family rental <br />units; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council also finds that the license fee for all rental units in the <br />City should be moderately increased to cover the administrative costs associated with the <br />licensing and inspection of such rental units; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to accordingly amend Chapter 713 of <br />the Business Regulation Code of the Zoning Code to provide for the licensing of one, two <br />and three family rental units and to increase the license fee provided for therein; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Chapter 713 (Licensing of Rental Units) of the City of North <br />Olmsted Business Regulation Code, which presently reads in its entirety as set forth in <br />the document attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by <br />reference as if fully restated herein, be amended, and, as amended, shall read in its <br />entirety as set forth in the document attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit B and <br />incorporated herein by reference as if fully restated herein. <br />SECTION 2: That the original Chapter 713 of the Business Regulation Code <br />amended herein is expressly repealed and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances or <br />resolutions that are inconsistent or in conflict with the newly amended section are <br />likewise repealed to the extent of such inconsistency or conflict only.
