? <br />? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006 - 196 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />? <br />? <br />A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE ACTION OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATOR OF THE DIVISION OF YOUTH SERVICES <br />IN APPLYING FOR A JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY BLOCK <br />GRANT ("JABG "), FURTHER A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO ACCEPT THE GRANT, IFAWARDED, AND TO EXECUTE <br />ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE <br />RECEIPT OF THE GRANT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Administrator of the Division of Youth Services, on November 14, 2006, <br />learned of an opportunity for the City to apply, by November 15, 2006, for a Juvenile <br />Accountability Block Grant ("JABG") in the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) that <br />would help to keep the special fund that supports the City's Community Diversion Program <br />solvent through the year 2007 and possibly even beyond that year, and accordingly immediately <br />prepared and applied for the said grant; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to ratify the actions of the Administrator of the <br />Division of Youth Services as in the best interests of the City and to further authorize the Mayor <br />to accept the grant, if awarded, on behalf of the City and to execute all documents necessary to <br />effectuate receipt of the grant; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council ratifies the actions of the Administrator of the Division of <br />Youth Services in applying for a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant ("JABG") in the amouiit of <br />Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00). <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to accept the said JABG, if <br />awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted on the terms and conditions provided, including <br />the condition that the City provide matching funds not to exceed One Thousand One Hundred <br />Fifteen Dollars ($1,115.00), and to execute all documents necessary to effectuate the receipt of the <br />grant.
