CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2006 - 192 BY: Council Members Tallon, Miller, Barker, Gareau, Dailey Jones, Orlowski AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION FOR COUNCIL AT-LARGE MEMBERS FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2008 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2011 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCYAS AMENDED. WHEREAS, this Council is required by Charter to fix and establish the compensation for elected officials, at least thirty (30) days before the deadline for the filing of nominating petitions for election to such offices; and WHEREAS, the deadline for the filing of nominating petitions for the Council-at- Large positions is the 22°d day of February 2007; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for this Council to adopt legislation with an effective date at least thirty (30) days prior to said nomination petitions deadline, or, to-wit: on oi before January 23, 2007 in order to comply with the requirements of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to provide for compensation for the position of Council-at-Large for the years 2008 through 2011 that is substantially similar to that provided for the staggered terms of the President of Council and the Ward Council members; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the compensation for the office of Council-at-Large for the period commencing January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2011 shall be as follows: Effective January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008 -$12,252.00 Effective January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009 -$12,742.00 Effective January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 -$13,029.00 Effective January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011 -$13,322.00
