?, ,... <br />4?.. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-189 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />ERIC JOSEPH KAMIS MOIZUK <br />OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication to arganized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those participating in Scouting, both the <br />youth and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout <br />Oath and the Scout Law are commitments for which all citizens should strive; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an extent that he earns the <br />rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, ERIC JOSEPH KAMIS MOIZUK has been an active participant of Troop 332; he has attended <br />m^ithly campouts sponsored by Troop 332; he has attended summer camp at Seven Ranges for four consecutive years <br />and ear.ied his 0 Year Pipestone Award (Camp Honors); and <br />WHEREAS, ERIC currently serves Troop 332 as Troop Guide where he is responsible for working with younger <br />Scouts to advance in rank, and ERIC has also served in the leadership position of Patrol Leader; he was elected by his <br />peers to The Order of the Arrow, which is the Boy Scout National Honor Society; and <br />WHEREAS, ERIC, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award, earned twenty-three Merit Badges, of which twenty-one <br />were required to reach the rank of Eagle Scout, which he has attained at age fourteen to carry on his family tradition by <br />joining his older brothers Shaun and Paul who are Eagle Scouts; and <br />WHEREAS, ERIC'S Eagle Leadership Project consisted of repairing existing shelving, constructing new storage <br />shelving units, constructing a desk area for volunteers and painting interiar walls for the St. Vincent DePaul Socie?„y's <br />North Olmsted Chapter; he and his fellow Scouts and their parents spent in excess of 120 hours completing this proje;;t; <br />Eric solicited and obtained donations from local businesses to fund all the costs of the project which was completed in <br />August of 2006; in addition, he had in excess of $100 in project funds remaining which was used to purchase n:m- <br />perishable food items to stock the shelves; and <br />WHEREAS, ERIC is a graduate of St. Richard School, a parishioner at St. Richard Church, and is a Freshman at <br />St. Edward High School, where he earned High Honors status his first year; and, while participating in many Scouting <br />activities, ERIC also participates in the St. Edward High School drama organization, and he plans to play volleyball for St. <br />Edward during the spring season; and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by ERIC JOSEPH KAMIS MOIZUK is a noteworthy <br />accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council and City Administration extend best wishes and heartiest congratulations to E? 9=-- <br />JOSEPH KAMIS MOIZUK on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolutior to <br />ERIC JOSEPH KAMIS MOIZUK. <br />Passed: ?,.
