RESOLUTION NO. 2006 -167 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady and Council Members Barker and Dailey Jones <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PLANNING TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />(CDBG) FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2007 FOR A PROJECT TO <br />COND UCT AN ASSESSMENT OF CITY FA CILITIES AND SER VICES FOR <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT <br />(ADA), AND DECLARING AN EMER GENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council created, by and through Resolution No. 2006-66, a Citizens <br />Advisory Committee (CAC), in part, for the purpose of reviewing and recommending <br />applications for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) during fiscal years 2007-2009; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after a public hearing was conducted, has determined that the <br />City of North Olmsted qualifies for CDBG funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee has submitted a report to this Council <br />recommending the above entitled proj ect application; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has designated that the project to conduct an assessment of city <br />facilities and services for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is eligible <br />for funding through the Community Development Block Grant Competitive Municipal Grant <br />Program funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and <br />administered for the City of North Olmsted by the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, said projects consist of applying for up to the maximum award for such <br />proj ects; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize and direct the <br />Director of Planning to make application for CDBG funding for said projects; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize and direct the Director of <br />Planning to prepare, sign and submit an application for Community Development Block Grant <br />funds for fiscal year 2007 on behalf of the City of North Olmsted for the proj ect to conduct an <br />assessment of city facilities and services for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities <br />Act (ADA), in an amount not to exceed the amount representing a maximum award for this <br />project, and further providing for participation by the City as described in the application.
