X. ?'•
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
Request for Proposals
CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR THE ANALYSIS OF
MUNICIPAL PROGRAMS, SERVICES, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR
CONFORMANCE TO THE AMERICAN5 WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA)
The City of North Olmsted is requesting proposals to provide professional consultant services for
the analysis of municipal programs, services, policies and procedures for conformance to the
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in the City of North Olmsted.
The City recognizes that policies and procedures can unintentionally discriminate against
persons with disabilities, thus making public facilities, programs and services inaccessible even
though physical barriers may not exist. The City of North Olmsted is currently assessing its
facilities and other infrastructure assets under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Upon
completion of the assessment of facilities and infrastructure, the City is seeking professional
consulting services to determine whether City programs, services, policies and procedures
comply with the ADA. We will require the successfully selected consultant to provide us with a
list of deficiencies, indicate specific remedies and alternate approaches to correct those
deficiencies, and provide an estimated cost/expense analysis for each alternative.
Upon award, the City will provide the successfully selected consultant with its completed review
of facilities and other infrastructure assets. The City expects the scope of work to include: 1) an
inventory of city programs and services that identifying the current physical location of each
service or program: 2) identification of all services, programs, policies and procedures that do
not or may not meet the requirements of the ADA; 3) recommend modifications to services,
programs, policies and procedures to improve compliance.
