CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006 -120 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br />INTO A TWO-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH VERIZON <br />WIRELESS PROVIDING FOR CELL PHONE SERVICE FOR <br />UP TO THIRTY-EIGHT (38) CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />EMPLOYEES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has informally solicited quotes for cell <br />phone service for City of North Olmsted employees, and, after reviewing said quotes, has <br />recommended that the City enter into a contract with Verizon Wireless as the lowest and <br />best provider; and <br />WHEREAS, because of the nature of the service being provided and the dollar <br />amount of the contract, it is not legally necessary that this contract be either <br />competitively bid in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter or subject to the <br />City's formal RFP process; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into a <br />two-year agreement with Verizon Wireless for basic cell phone service for up to thirty- <br />eight (38) City employees in the amount of Nine Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-Nine <br />Dollars and Twenty-Four Cents ($9,399.24) Dollars per year; <br />NO W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized enter into a two- <br />year agreement with Verizon Wireless for basic cell phone service for up to thirty-eight <br />(38) City employees, in the total amount of Nine Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-Nine <br />Dollars and Twenty-Four Cents ($9,399.24) per year, in the form of the Agreement <br />attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A, with only such changes to be hereinafter made <br />as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of <br />Law. The character of any such changes as not being substantially adverse to the City <br />shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the Agreement by the Mayor and the <br />approval of the Agreement by the Director of Law.
