_,,„ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-169 <br />BY: MAYOR ED BOYLE <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING WINTER SAFETY WEEK /N OHIO <br />NOVEMBER 27 THROUGH DECEMBER 3, 1994, AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the State of Ohio experienced record low temperatures in <br />the winter of 1993, costing several Ohioans their lives; and <br />WHEREAS, the winter season, with its potential for severe weather and <br />snow-related emergencies, is fast approaching our state; and <br />WHEREAS, many people die needlessly each winter because they do <br />not heed or are not aware of safety precautions that might save their lives; and <br />WHEREAS, community awareness and planning for such threats of <br />blizzards, ice and snow storms can result in the saving of lives and prevention of <br />injury, particularly among special populations such as senior citizens, <br />handicapped, the indigent and homeless; and <br />WHEREAS, Governor George Voinovich has proclaimed November 27 <br />through December 1994, as "Ohio Winter Safety Week;" and <br />WHEREAS, a weather test designated specifically for county-wide testing <br />of the Emergency Broadcast System and other appropriate components of <br />emergency management. will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, <br />November 30, 1994.. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE /T RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br />
