~... <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 94-112 <br />BY: Mayor Boyle <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ORGANIZATIONAL CHART AND <br />COMPOSITION OF EMERGENCY CENTRAL DISPATCH AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS: It is the desire of this Council for the transition of public dispatch functions <br />from the Police and Fire Departments to the Emergency Central Dispatch. The impetus is <br />to consolidate the Police and Fire Dispatch into one unit. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: The Emergency Central Dispatch unit shall be under the direction of the <br />Safety Director. <br />SECTION 2: The Chief of the Police Department and Chief of the Fire Department, or <br />their designees, shall be charged with equal responsibilities to assist in the management of <br />this unit. Both Chief of Police and Chief of Fire will be responsible for establishing <br />policies and procedures with respect to their department operations. All such policies and <br />procedures shall be approved by the Director of Public Safety. <br />SECTION 3: The Safety Director shall also be in charge of all dispatchers, full-time as <br />well as part-time, within the Emergency Central Dispatch unit. <br />SECTION 4: That the salaries for all members of Emergency Central Dispatch, shall be <br />established either by contract or separate ordinance which shall be approved by Council. <br />SECTION 5: That all ordinances or resolutions or parts of ordinances or resolutions in <br />conflict herewith are hereby repealed with the effective date of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 6: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare of the <br />area residents and further provided it receives the affirmative vote oftwo-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />
