<br /> <br />BY.• Councilman Dean McKay <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTE+D <br />ORDIlVANCE NO. 9~l- 89 <br />J c~6-~ ~. l~~s 95~ <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRIlVG THAT ALL FULL-T7ME <br />EMPLOYEES ~ID BY THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID <br />AFTER THE EFFECI7VE DATE OF THIS ORDIlVANCE SHALL <br />F.IT7IDR BE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AT TFIE TTME OF HIRE OR SHALL BECOME RESIDENTS OF <br />T7IE CITY OF NORT7I OLMSTID WIIHIN SIX MONT7IS AFTER <br />EMPLOYMENT: <br />~IVIZFRF.AS, This Council is of the belief that it is desirable to have future City employees <br />become residents of the City, in that it will provide the jobs for residents of the City of North <br />Olmsted and at the same time, the employees who are working for the City will have a closer <br />bond to the City as a result of being residents and employees at the same time; and <br />WIID1eEAS, It is the desire of this Council to implement such a policy. <br />NOW, TfIDREFORE, BE Tl ORDAINED BY TFIE COUNCIL OF T7FE CITY OF NORTTI <br />OLMSTID, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That it is hereby established that it is the policy of the City of North <br />Olmsted that the following requirements be met with respect to employment of full-time <br />employees of the City of North Olmsted from and after the effective date of this Ordinance: <br />a.) Except as otherwise provided for in the Charter of the City of North Olmsted every <br />officer or employee who is employed by the City of North Olmsted after the effective date of <br />this Ordinance, whether in the classified or unclassified service, shall at the time of his or her <br />employment or within six months thereafter, be or become a bonified resident of the City of <br />North Olmsted and shall remain a resident of the City of North Olmsted during his or her <br />employment by the City of North Olmsted. <br />
