_, ~.. . <br />- ti -_, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-75 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING APR/L 22 AS EARTH DAY, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, For the past four years, the City of North Olmsted and its <br />Schoo/s demonstrate concern for the environment by sponsoring a combined <br />celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day; and <br />WHEREAS, For the past nine years, North Olmsted has been named a <br />Tree City USA by the National Arbor Foundation; and <br />WHEREAS, It is important to continue this joint effort of concern for the <br />environment by making all residents aware of the need to improve the health of <br />our planet; and <br />WHEREAS, Our community's Earth/Arbor Day activities are designed to <br />educate all citizens on the importance of acting in an environmentally sensitive <br />fashion by recycling; buying and using products least harmful to the <br />environment; conserving energy and water; promoting alternative, renewable <br />energy sources; encouraging sustainable, organic agricultural methods; using <br />efficient transportation; and adopting more ecologically sound lifestyles. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the City of North Olmsted continues to support the <br />goals of Earth Day and Arbor Day and vows to promote preservation of the local <br />and global environment. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from <br />and after the earliest period allowed bylaw. <br />
