CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9465 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE C/TY COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORT/NG THE "NONE FOR UNDER 21 " <br />CAMPAIGN AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Public Safety is sponsoring a None <br />for Under 21"campaign the week of April 24 -May 1, 1994; and <br />WHEREAS, this week has been designated by the State as a time to <br />remember the young people killed in alcohol-related traffic incidents and to make <br />sure that these senseless deaths do not happen to more young people; and <br />WHEREAS, drinking and driving is the leading cause of death among <br />people under the age of 21; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent of this Administration and City Council to <br />remind students that if they are under 21 and drinking, they are breaking the law; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is also the intent of this Council and Administration to work <br />toward the elimination ofalcohol-related deaths and injuries. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br />Section 1: That it is the intention of this Administration and City Council <br />to spread the message of the None for Under 21"campaign. <br />Section 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety <br />and welfare and further provided it receives an affirmative vote of two-thirds of all <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
