_~,. .._ <br />~.~:.. <br />.. ,.~..~.....u_ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />Ordinance No. 94-32 <br />B y: Councilman McKay <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING DON <br />COPELAND TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1994 20TH YEAR), <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after public hearing conducted <br />on February 3, 1994, has determined the City of North Olmsted <br />qualifies for Community Development Block Grant funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has designated one activity, named the <br />Americans With Disabilities Compliance For The North Olmsted <br />Parks And Recreation Department, as being eligible for <br />funding through Community Development Block Grant funds; and <br />it is to be designated as the primary project application and <br />WHEREAS, said project consists of designating up to $150,000 <br />for Fiscal Year 1994; and <br />WHEREAS, said project consists of bringing all Parks and <br />Recreation Department facilities into compliance with the <br />standards of the Americans With Disabilities Act; and <br />WHEREAS, this project will provide for the rehabilitation <br />construction of restrooms and locker rooms; make playgrounds <br />and picnic area accessible to the disabled; provide public <br />telephones at the required height, amplification, and <br />transmission capabilities; improve and maintain the <br />swimming pool ramp accessibility; and provide an accessible <br />spectator area for the ice rink; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has selected this project based on its <br />grant eligibility, competitive potential, and its direct <br />benefit to the disabled and the elderly as defined as low <br />and moderate income persons; <br />
