CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2010 - 30 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE WESTERN RESERVE AREA AGENCY ON <br />AGING TO PROVIDE FOR MEDICARE BENEFICIARY OUTREACHAND <br />ASSISTANCE FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED SENIOR CENTER, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMER GENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging has been awarded a Grant <br />pursuant to the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) to provide for <br />Medicare Beneficiary Outreach and Assistance Programs; and <br />WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging proposes to enter an <br />Agreement with the City of North Olmsted to enable the Senior Center to participate in said grant <br />program and to be awarded qualified expense reimbursement up to Five Hundred Dollars <br />($500.00); and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted Senior Center can use these additional grant <br />dollars to initiate outreach and enrollment activities targeting limited income Medicare <br />beneficiaries that may be eligible for Low Income Subsidy or Medicare Savings Programs; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter <br />into an Agreement with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging to provide for Beneficiary <br />Outreach and Assistance by the North Olmsted Senior Center. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an <br />Agreement, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, with the Western Reserve Area Agency on <br />Aging to provide funding for a Medicare Beneficiary Outreach and Assistance Program, for the <br />period September 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010, in order to provide for such activities and <br />participation by the Senior Center, and to provide for qualified expense reimbursement in the <br />amount of Five Hundred Dollar ($500.00). The Agreement shall be in form and substance of the <br />attached Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification, having a total of two (2) pages, marked <br />as Exhibit A and attached hereto, with only such changes to be hereinafter made in said contracts <br />as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. <br />
