CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2010-31 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE RANGE OF COMPENSATION RATES AND SALARY RANGES FOR <br />ADMINISTRATIVE AND LEGISLATIVE PERSONNEL TO ALLOW FOR FURLOUGH DAYS, ELIMINATE <br />CERTAIN PAID HOLIDAYS AND ELIMINATE SELLING BACK VACATION HOURS FOR CASH; AND <br />OTHERWISE RE-STATE THE COMPENSATION RATE RANGES FOR VARIOUS ADMINISTRATIVE AND <br />LEGISLATIVE PERSONNEL FOR THE YEAR 2010, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, in order to implement cost-saving measures from nonbargaining city employees, it is the <br />desire of this Council to change the benefit language in Sections 19 and 20 of the Salary Range <br />Ordinance, which are presently stated as follows: <br />Section 19: Holidays and Personal Days That all full-time personnel listed within this Ordinance shall <br />receive the following holidays off, unless required to work by their supervisor or the Mayor in emergencies, <br />and shall receive their regular rate of pay: New Year's Day; Presidents' Day; one-half (1/2) day on Good <br />Friday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; the day after Thanksgiving Day; <br />one-half (1/2) day on Christmas Eve Day; Christmas Day; and one-half (1/2) day on New Year's Eve Day. <br />Employees hired between January 1st and June 30th of any given year shall receive three (3) personal days <br />upon their date of hire. <br />All full-time personnel listed within this Ordinance hired between July 1st and December 31st of any given <br />year shall receive one and one-half (1'/z) personal days upon their date of hire. Personal days must be used <br />before the end of the year in which they were earned and are not eligible for buy back. Following the first <br />year of employment, these employees will earn their personal days on January 1st of each subsequent year. <br />Section 20: Vacation That all full-time personnel listed within this Ordinance shall be entitled to an annual <br />vacation in accordance with Section 161.11 of the Administrative Code. All previous service as an elected <br />city public official within the city shall be considered full-time for the purpose of calculating vacation and sick <br />leave upon retirement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF <br />CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1: That the following salary ranges are hereby established for administrative and legislative <br />personnel of the City of North Olmsted.
