CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2010 - 47 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION DISPENSING WITH THE RFP PROCESS AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A ONE YEAR <br />CONTRACT WITH MB3 CONSULTING LLC. FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />PROVIDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING SERVICES <br />TO THE CITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the RFP process the City of North Olmsted on May 22, 2007 <br />entered into a contract for economic consulting services with Silverlode Consulting Corp., <br />which contract was renewed annually until the City on March 30, 2010 served notice that it <br />was terminating the contract; and <br />WHEREAS, since May 22, 2007, Greg Myers has served continually as the economic <br />development consultant assigned by Silverlode Consulting Corp. to address the economic <br />development needs of the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, on or about April 1, 2010, Greg Myers commenced employment with <br />MB3 Consulting LLC. <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Planning that based upon the <br />quality of the work performed to date by Greg Myers, his institutional knowledge of economic <br />development concerns in the City of North Olmsted, and the current economic climate, the <br />City rather than attempt to procure the necessary consulting services elsewhere and otherwise <br />through the City's RFP/RFQ procedures, instead enter into a one year contract with MB3 <br />Consulting LLC; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council, acting upon the <br />recommendation of the Director of Planning, to dispense with the RFP/RFQ process and <br />authorize the Mayor to enter into a one year contract with MB3 Consulting, LLC; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a one year <br />contract with MB3 Consulting LLC., to provide economic development consulting services to <br />the City. Said contract shall be in substantially the same form and substance as the contract <br />attached hereto as Exhibit A, with only such changes thereto as are not substantially adverse <br />to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The character of any such changes <br />as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution <br />of the agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the agreement by the Director of Law. <br />
