CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0.2010 - 61 BY: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCES 78-31, 83-129, 2003-67, 2004- 93, 2004-145, 2005-131 AND 2005-171, WHICH COLLECTIVELY ESTABLISH CHAPTER 163 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY LIFE SERVICES'; FOR THE PURPOSE OF ABOLISHING CHAPTER 163 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, on May 4, 2010, the electors of the City of North Olmsted approved Issue 34 to amend the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, whereby all departments and divisions there under, with the exception of the Department of Law and the Department of Finance, are to be established by the Council via ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Administration has analyzed the operations and structure of the departments and divisions of the City and has determined that efficiency in operation and cost savings can be achieved through the re-organization of the various departments and divisions; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Administration that the Department of Community Life Services, as previously established by Charter and as more fully described in Chapter 163 of the Administrative Code, be abolished and that the services provided there under be reallocated to other various Departments, Divisions and Offices within the City; and WHEREAS, Ordinances 78-31, 83-129, 2003-67, 2004-93, 2004-145, 2005-131 and 2005-171, collectively created Chapter 163 of the Administrative Code entitled "Department of Community Life Services," and WHEREAS, consistent with the recommendation of the Mayor, it is the desire of this Council to abolish the Department of Community Life Services and eliminate Chapter 163 from the Administrative Code. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Department of Community Life Services established via ordinances 78-31, 83-129, 2003-67, 2004-93, 2004-145, 2005-131 and 2005-171 (collectively know as Chapter 163 of the Administrative Code) shall be and remain in effect until July 31, 2010.
