CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0.2010 -64 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 167 <br />OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF <br />HUMAN RESOURCES" IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR THE RE- <br />ORGANIZATION THEREOF, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, on May 4, 2010, the electors of the City of North Olmsted approved Issue <br />34 to amend the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, whereby all departments and divisions <br />there under, with the exception of the Department of Law and the Department of Finance, are to <br />be established by the Council via ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration has analyzed the operations and structure of the <br />departments and divisions of the City and has determined that efficiency in operation and cost <br />savings can be achieved through the re-organization of the various departments and divisions; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Administration that the Department of <br />Human Resources, upon approval of this Ordinance, consist of a Director of Human Resources, a <br />Division of Information Technology, a Division of Aging, a Division of Youth & Family <br />Services, an Employment Specialist, and support staff; and <br />WHEREAS, consistent with the recommendation of the Mayor, it is the desire of this <br />Council to reorganize the Department of Human Resources by amending Chapter 167 of the <br />Administrative Code. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Department of Human Resources established via ordinances 90- <br />4, 2003-17, 2004-04, 2005-78, 2005-132, 2005-164 (collectively known as Chapter 167 <br />"Department of Human Resources") shall be and remain in effect until July 31, 2010. As of <br />August 1, 2010 the Department of Human Resources, as amended herein, shall be in effect. <br />SECTION 2: That Chapter 167 "Department of Human Resources," which presently <br />reads in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached to this Ordinance and <br />incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein, shall be amended effective August 1, 2010, <br />and, as amended, shall read in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit B, which is likewise attached to <br />this Ordinance and likewise incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein. <br />
