CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0.2010 -65 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 141 <br />OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF <br />PUBLIC SERVICE" IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR THE RE- <br />ORGANIZATION THEREOF, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS <br />AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, on May 4, 2010, the electors of the City of North Olmsted approved Issue <br />34 to amend the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, whereby all departments and divisions <br />there under, with the exception of the Department of Law and the Department of Finance, are to <br />be established by the Council via ordinance; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration has analyzed the operations and structure of the <br />departments and divisions of the City and has determined that efficiency in operation and cost <br />savings can be achieved through the re-organization of the various departments and divisions; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Administration that the Department of <br />Public Service, upon approval of this Ordinance, consist of a Director of Public Safety & <br />Service, a Division of Public Works, a Division of Fleet and a Division of Waste Water, and <br />support staff; and <br />WHEREAS, consistent with the recommendation of the Mayor, it is the desire of this <br />Council to reorganize the Department of Public Service by amending Chapter 141 of the <br />Administrative Code. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Department of Public Service established via ordinances, Ord. <br />378 (passed 2-26-31), 66-279, 78-73, 78-74, 2003-91, 2003-25 and 2006-94 (collectively known <br />as Chapter 141 Department of Public Service) shall be and remain in effect until July 31, 2010. <br />As of August 1, 2010 the Department of Public Service, as amended herein, shall be in effect. <br />SECTION 2: That Chapter 141 "Department of Public Service," which presently reads <br />in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached to this Ordinance and incorporated by <br />reference as if fully rewritten herein, shall be amended effective August 1, 2010, and, as <br />amended, shall read in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit B, which is likewise attached to this <br />Ordinance and likewise incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein. <br />
