CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2010-77 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />DAN TALPAS <br />OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication <br />to organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those <br />participating in Scouting, both the youths and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the <br />community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Law and the Scout Pledge <br />are commitments that all citizens should strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an <br />extent that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, Dan Talpas, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 204, has served his fellow <br />Scouts as Troop Guide, Troop Bugler, Assistant Patrol Leader, and Patrol Scribe; and <br />WHEREAS, Dan Talpas, was an active Scout participating in numerous camp outs and <br />summer camps, Memorial Day Parades, All Scouts Weekends, Teen committee for All Scouts <br />Weekend; First Place Bugler Contest winner at All-Scouts Weekend, National Youth Leadership <br />Training as both a participant and a counselor, and a member of the Order of the Arrow, and <br />WHEREAS, Dan Talpas, is especially talented at training younger Scouts in the skills and <br />values of Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, Dan Talpas, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award earned 25 Merit Badges; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Dan's Eagle Service Project was to scrape and paint the outdoor pool <br />building for the Sandy Ridge Homeowner's Association; and <br />WHEREAS, while Dan Talpas was undertaking all these Scouting projects, he was an <br />active member of the St. Bernadette Church in Westlake, Ohio and <br />WHEREAS, Dan Talpas is currently a sophomore at North Olmsted High School where <br />he is on the Honor Roll, earned a Varsity letter as a member of the hockey team, member of the <br />track team, marching band and symphonic band; and <br />WHEREAS, Dan is planning to attend college and study Criminal Justice; and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by Dan Talpas is a noteworthy <br />accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council extends its best wishes and heartiest congratulations to <br />Dan Talpas on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. <br />SECTION 2: Thdt t'rie Clerk of C~°~ur~cil be, and sl,e i~ her,by dir:.~td tc tra:~sr:~it a ccpy <br />of this Resolution to Dan Talpas: <br />~'~ ~ <br />Passed: D ~/rte /y <br />Marie Gallo, Clerk of Council Duane K.
