The Director of Law shall act as legal counsel and serve in such capacity the Mayor, <br />Council, administrative officers, departments, and the commissions and boards of the City. <br />As legal counsel and attorney, he shall represent the City in all proceedings in court or before <br />any administrative body and in such other matters and controversies as he is, by resolution or <br />ordinance, directed to prosecute. The Director of Law may with the approval of a majority of <br />the members of Council retain the services of outside counsel to assist him in carrying out <br />any of duties specified in this Section. He or an Assistant Director of Law shall act as <br />Prosecuting Attorney for the City. n° ^''^" ~°~~ r,~. ^" ^*'~°~ a„*~°^ ~ r ~°r°~^^~°r <br />.The Director of Law shall perform all other <br />duties now or hereinafter imposed by Council or the Mayor consistent with the duties <br />of the office of Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2. If the foregoing proposal receives the affirmative vote of a majority of the <br />electors voting thereon, then the said amendment to Article V, Section 2 of the Charter shall be <br />effective upon certification of such affirmative vote following the election on November 2, 2010. <br />SECTION 3. It is the desire of the Council that the ballot for said question shall be in <br />substantially the following form: <br />PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT <br />A majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage. <br />Shall Article V, Section 2 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted <br />be amended to require the Director of Law to perform all such duties <br />now or hereinafter imposed by Council or the Mayor consistent with <br />the duties of the office of Director of Law? <br />Yes <br />No <br />SECTION 4. The Clerk of Council is authorized and directed to deliver a certified copy of <br />this Ordinance to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County no sooner than July 2, 2010, and no <br />later than September 3, 2010. <br />
