(1) "Animal hospitals/clinics" means any facility used for the medical treatment of <br />animals, where animals may be boarded only during their convalescence from <br />such medical treatment, and where all operations are conducted completely <br />indoors. <br />(2) "Animal grooming facility" means any facility providing bathing or trimming of <br />domestic animals for a fee, where all operations are conducted completely <br />indoors. This term includes facilities that board domestic animals for a maximum <br />period of forty-eight hours incidental to the grooming services provided. <br />(3) "Animal training facility" means any facility providing training of domestic <br />animals for a fee, where all operations are conducted completely indoors. This <br />term includes facilities that board domestic animals for a maximum period of <br />forty-eight hours incidental to the training services provided. <br />(4) "Indoor animal boarding facility" means any facility where domestic animals <br />owned by another person are temporarily boarded for a fee and whose activities <br />are conducted completely indoors. <br />(5) "Kennels" means any facility used for the boarding, breeding, raising, training, <br />showing, or selling of dogs and/or cats for a fee. Such facilities may include <br />outdoor dog runs. <br />(6) "Recycling collection center" means a facility that is not a junkyard and in which <br />recoverable resources, such as newspapers, magazines, books, and other paper <br />products; glass; metal cans; plastics and other products, are collected, sorted and <br />temporarily stored prior to shipment for remanufacture into new materials. Such <br />a facility may allow limited compacting or crushing of recyclable materials. <br />Shall be amended and as amended shall read as follows: <br />1139.01 GENERAL RETAIL BUSINESS DISTRICT. <br />(f) Intent. For the purposes of the Zoning Code, General Retail Business Districts are hereby <br />established to meet the shopping, convenience and service needs of the residents of the <br />entire community and shall be established in a manner to protect adjacent residential <br />neighborhoods by regulating the types of business uses, which could create hazards, <br />noise, odors or other objectionable influences. <br />(g) Permitted Buildings and Uses. In a General Retail Business District, land may be used <br />and buildings may be designed, built, altered or used only for one or more of the <br />following permitted uses. <br />(1) Any use permitted in the least restrictive Residence District adjacent to any part <br />of such General Retail Business District subject to the requirements of such <br />Residence District. <br />(2) Single family cluster dwellings as regulated in Chapter 1136. <br />(3) Retail business. <br />A. The retail sale of baked goods, confectionery, dairy products, delicatessen, <br />fruits, vegetables, groceries, meats and beverages; <br />B. The sale of dry goods and variety merchandise; <br />C. The sale of hardware, household appliances, television and radio, paint, <br />wallpaper, materials and objects for interior decorating; <br />D. The sale of books, magazines, newspapers, tobacco products, drugs, <br />flowers, gifts, music, photographic equipment, sporting goods and <br />stationery;
