O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br />TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF 5,000 TONS OF <br />STONE FOR VARIOUS SERVICE DEPARTMENT NEEDS THROUGHOUT <br />THE CITY AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT <br />WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER TO PURCHASE SAID STONE, <br />AFTER BOARD OF CONTROL APPROVAL, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is <br />necessary to purchase 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the <br />City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications for said stone, as prepared under the direction <br />of the Service Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the Service Director's <br />Office; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the <br />City, and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder to <br />purchase said stone, after Board of Control approval; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the <br />City in accordance with the specifications now on file in the Service Director's Office, and <br />further that, upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a <br />contract and execute the same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best <br />bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to <br />purchase seasonal supplies, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />
