~. ~..: CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION N0.2006 - 92 By: Councilman Gareau A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE MONTH OF AUGUST PROPERTY MAINTENANCE AWARENESS MONTH IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, on June 17, 1975 and on June 6, 1995 the City of North Olmsted created a Real Property Maintenance Code applicable to residential and non-residential properties in the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, the Real Property Maintenance Code establishes minimum standards to avoid the blighting influence that occurs with neglected properties; and WHEREAS, by and through the adoption of the Real Property Maintenance Code, the City of North Olmsted publicly declared its intent to maintain visually attractive and economically appealing properties within the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, real property maintenance is vital to fostering good neighbor relations, enhancing and preserving property values, and providing favorable impressions of our community to visitors; and WHEREAS, Real Property Maintenance creates a sense of pride for property owners, while showing respect to those who live and work on surrounding properties; and WHEREAS, the City and its residents will benefit from amonth-long reminder to take pride in one's home and/or business, and make a difference in our community through fixing up homes and businesses; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHID: SECTION 1: That the month of August is hereby designated "Property Maintenance Month" in the City of North Olmsted. Property owners are encouraged to educate themselves on their responsibilities, address property maintenance items on their property and assist those neighbors who may be unable to fulfill their property maintenance responsibilities due to economic or physical barriers.
