Ordinance No. 2006-84 <br />SECTION 1: That there is hereby created new Section 139.09 of the North <br />Olmsted Codified Ordinances, entitled "Division of Youth Services." Said new <br />Section139.09, as created, shall read in its entirety as follows: <br />"139.09 DIVISION OF YOUTH SERVICES. <br />(a) There is hereby created the Division of Youth Services within the <br />Department ~f Public Safety. The Division shall be headed by the Youth <br />Services Administrator, which shall be a full-time position. The Youth <br />Services Administrator, ai1d all, other. positions in. this- Division, shall be <br />appointed by and answerable t~~ the Director ofYublic Safety. <br />(b) The Youth Services Administrator shall ~ <br />+t r•+ ~ ~~, r, ~„„.~,o ~, provide direct services to <br />youth and families including counseling, crisis intervention and <br />coordination of services; shall act as liaison with the police department <br />and courts relative to juvenile justice prevention services and diversion; <br />shall coordinate services and programs with the North Olmsted schools, <br />local parochial schools, and other youth cooperatives in the North Olmsted <br />community; and shall perform such other duties consistent with his or her <br />position as assigned by the Director of Public Safety. <br />(c) The Youth Services Administrator shall be required to have a <br />bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study (e.g., psychology, social <br />work, counseling, human services) from an accredited university or <br />college, and shall further be required to hold and maintain a license from <br />the State of Ohio as a social worker or professional counselor. <br />(d) The Division shall also include the following support positions for the <br />Youth Services Coordinator:: (1)~ .~outh:Services_ Program Assistant (part- <br />time); and (2)_ Intervention,Specialis~t_CJ~P (part-time),•each.of who shall <br />work -under -the direction and `supervision of the Youth Services <br />Coordinator. <br />SECTION 2: That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict or <br />inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance shall, to the extent of such <br />conflict or inconsistency, be repealed. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: ~ ~ a ~ ~ 6 <br />First Reading: _ <br />Second Reading: <br />Third Reading <br />Committee: <br />2 <br />
