CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2006 - 59 <br />BY: Council Member Gareau <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1305.05 OF THE <br />BUILDING CODE (SUPPLEMENTAL STANDARDS) IN ORDER TO <br />PROVIDE NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TREATMENT OF <br />EXPOSED EXTERIOR CONCRETE OR BLOCK MASONRY WALLS <br />IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF ONE, TWO OR THREE FAMILY <br />DWELLINGS, AND DECLARING AN EMER GENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 1305 of the City Building Code provides standards for the <br />construction of one, two and three family dwellings in the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, the Building Commissioner has recommended an amendment to <br />Section 1305.05(c) of said Chapter 1305 in order to establish new and better requirements <br />for the treatment of exposed exterior concrete or block masonry walls in the construction <br />of one, two and three family dwellings, and accessory structures; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to amend Section 1305.05 <br />of the Building Code, as recommended by the Building Commissioner, so as to establish <br />said new and better requirements in the City's Building Code, thereby preserving and <br />protecting the health, safety and welfare of the residential community; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 1305.05 of the Building Code which presently reads <br />as follows: <br />1305.05 SUPPLEMENTAL STANDARDS. <br />The following standards are supplemental to and shall be construed to constitute a <br />part of the One and Two Family Dwelling Code adopted under Section 1305.01: <br />(a) Posting Notice of Application Immediately upon application for a <br />building permit signed by the owner or his authorized agent, which <br />application shall be filed with the Building Commissioner on forms <br />furnished by him, the Building Commissioner shall cause to have erected <br />upon the property for which a permit is applied for a sign which shall have <br />a notice thereon as follows: "A building permit applied for, plans and plat <br />showing the elevation and grading to be as established on file in the office <br />of the Building Commissioner, City Hall." Such sign shall remain on the <br />premises for which a permit has been applied for, for a period often days <br />after the date of the application for the permit. In all instances in which the <br />proposed construction increases the area or cubic content of a building, or <br />involves a building covered by a roof, or such application is for original <br />construction of a roofed structure designed for use as a shelter for persons, <br />
