~~ <br />_. <br />,~~, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006 - 44 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF THE NEW CITY HALL ADA COMPLIANT FRONT ENTRANCE, <br />AS PER SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN HIS OFFICE, AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE <br />BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR <br />SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this City Council has previously adopted legislation providing <br />funding and for professional design services for the construction of a new City Hall ADA <br />compliant front entrance; and <br />WHEREAS, plans and specifications have been created for the said construction <br />and are on file in the office of the Director of Public Service; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public <br />Service to advertise for bids for the construction of the said new City Hall ADA <br />compliant front entrance in accordance with said plans and specifications, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor, upon receipt of bids and award of a contract by the Board of <br />Control, to enter into a contract for the construction of said improvement; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized <br />to advertise for bids for the construction of the new City Hall ADA compliant front <br />entrance, in accordance with the plans and specifications now on file in his office; and <br />further that, upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />enter into a contract and execute same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the <br />lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare and for the further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect <br />immediately in order to address federal ADA compliance issues at the earliest possible <br />date; and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of a'. <br />members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />
