_ .. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 2006-8 <br />(d) Accessory Buildings and Structures. <br />(1) A detached accessory storage building not exceeding <br />two percent (2%) of the rear yard, but no larger than 200 square feet maybe <br />permitted in the rear yard of a residential lot. <br />(2) The total area of a detached garage, accessory storage <br />building or other accessory structure, such as a deck, swimming pool, pavilion or <br />gazebo, shall not exceed more than twenty percent (20%) of the required area of <br />the rear yard on which such building(s) or structure(s) is located. <br />(3) The maximum height of any accessory structure shall <br />not exceed twelve feet in height. <br />(4) Any accessory building or structure shall be set back not <br />less than five feet from a side lot line and ten feet from a rear lot line. <br />(5) On a corner lot, any accessory structure shall be set back <br />not less than the required front building setback for the abutting lot on the side <br />street. <br />(6) Floodlights, search lights, loudspeakers or similar <br />structures shall not be erected or used in any Residence District unless approved <br />by the Building Official. <br />(e) Animal Shelter. Accessory buildings designed, built, altered or <br />used to house domestic fowl or animals provided that it is located so that no part <br />of the same shall be within ten feet of any rear or side line of the lot on which the <br />same is located and within 200 feet of a dwelling on any adjacent lot or within <br />200 feet of the source of any private water supply or any street line. Shelters for <br />dogs shall not be subject to the foregoing requirements as to location except that <br />the same shall be confined to the rear yard area. <br />(f) Fences. <br />(1) A fence not exceeding six feet in height maybe placed <br />along any side or rear property line providing it does not extend nearer the street <br />line than the front building line, except that fences in which at least fifty percent <br />(50%) of the face is open maybe established from the front building line to the <br />street line and on the street line provided the same does not exceed thirty inches <br />in height at any time. No electrified or barbed wire fence shall be erected or <br />installed at any location. <br />(2) A six foot high fence maybe constructed on a corner lot <br />in the rear yard provided that the same is located at the required front building <br />setback of the abutting lot on the side street. <br />(g) Antenna and Tower. An independent television antenna or radio <br />tower not to exceed fifty feet in height and not used for commercial purposes, so <br />long as it is located in either a rear or side yard, attached to the gabled side of the <br />dwelling where practical. <br />(h) Recreational Vehicle. Recreational vehicles (including, but not <br />limited to boats, travel trailers, motor homes and utility trailers) may be stored in <br />a completely enclosed garage in a manner which does not impair the complete <br />closing of the garage's door or doors. Further, no more than two additional <br />recreational vehicles maybe parked or stored on a lot, outside of a garage, as <br />follows: <br />(1) Side yard areas. One vehicle maybe parked or stored in <br />the side yard area (but not in the side yard area of a corner lot which abuts a <br />street); provided, however, that if the side yard area faces a house which has a <br />first floor window opening to habitable room, then the vehicle may be parked or <br />
