,~* <br />,~•. <br />~. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />'~ ORDINANCE N0. 77 -~~ <br />BY . ~ Y.c./ <br />AN DINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE <br />COMPENSATION FOR THE DIRECTOR OF LAW OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE <br />COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1978 AND ENDING <br />DECEMBER 31, 1981, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, at Article <br />IV, Section 6, requires the Council to fix the compensation for all <br />elected officials at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing date <br />of nominating petitions for terms beginning on the next succeeding <br />1st day of January, and <br />WHEREAS, the date for filing nominating petitions for elected <br />officials in the City of North Olmsted is April 8, 1977, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish the <br />compensation for all elected officials in compliance with the Charter <br />requirements: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the salary to be paid to the Director of Law <br />for the term commencing January 1, 1978 and ending December 31, 1981, <br />shall be as follows: <br />Effective January 1, 1978 thru December 31, 1979 - $20,000.00 per year <br />Effective January 1, 1980 thru December 31, 1981 - $22,000.00 per year <br />SECTION 2: That in addition to the salary specified in Section <br />1 hereof,-t e ity of North Olmsted shall pay for full hospitalization <br />coverage on a family plan with either Blue Cross and Medical Mutual or <br />the Kaiser Health Foundation or any other hospitalization plan which <br />may be designated by Council. <br />SECTION 3: That the compensation as specified in Sections 1 and <br />Z here-Tieing established only for the purpose of complying with <br />the Charter requirements as outlined in Article IV, Section 6, and in <br />no way affect any of the other provisions of any ordinance relating to <br />the organizational chart of either administrative or legislative <br />officers. <br />SECTION 4: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it <br />is immediately necessary to comply with the requirements of the Charter <br />of the City of North Olmsted regarding the establishment of salaries <br />at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing of nominating petitions, <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />o_f all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ~irili ,! /.~77 <br />ATTEST: <br />~ ~~ <br />Nora Hil ~/Cl~e~~ o Counci' 1 De y m rt, res i o Council <br />APPROVED: / <br />Ralp Christman, Mayor <br /> <br />
