<br />BY: <br /> <br />AN <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 77 -,/~' <br />i~i ~~.~, <br />Ks~ <br />ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING <br />THE COMPENSATION FOR THE MAYOR OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR THE TERM OF <br />OFFICE COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1978 <br />AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1981, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of The City of North Olmsted, at Article <br />IV, Section 6, requires the Council to fix the compensation for all <br />elected officials at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing <br />date of nominating petitions for terms beginning on the next <br />succeeding 1st day of January, and <br />WHEREAS, the date for filing nominating petitions for elected <br />officials in the City of North Olmsted is April 8, 1977, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish the <br />compensation for all elected officials in compliance with the <br />Charter requirements: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the salary to be paid to the Mayor for the <br />term commencing January 1, 1978 and ending December 31, 1981, <br />shall be as follows: <br />Effective January 1, 1978 thru December 31, 1979 - $26,200.00 <br />Per Year; and. <br />Effective January 1, 1980 thru December 31, 1981 - $28,200.00 <br />Per Year. <br />SECTION 2: That in addition to the salary specified in <br />Section 1 hereof, the City of North Olmsted shall pay for full <br />hospitalization coverage on a family plan with either Blue Cross and <br />Medical Mutual or the Kaiser Health Foundation or any other <br />hospitalization plan which may be designated by Council. <br />SECTION 3: That the compensation as specified in Sections 1 <br />and 2 ereo are being established only for the purpose of complying <br />with the Charter requirements as outlined in Article IV, Section 6, <br />and in no way affect any of the other provisions of any ordinance <br />relating to the organizational chart of either administrative or <br />legislative officers. <br />SECTION 4: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that <br />it is immediately necessary to comply with the requirements of the <br />Charter of the City of North Olmsted regarding the establishment of <br />salaries at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing of nominating <br />petitions, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and <br />be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : ~j~t~.+E.~ /, ,~,~% <br />ATTEST: ~~ /."
