ORDINANCE N0. 77 -// <br />BY . ~%~ ~ e <br />AN OR INANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE <br />COD~PENSATION FOR THE PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR THE TERM <br />OF OFFICE COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1978 AND <br />ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1981, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted at Article IV, <br />Section 6, requires the Council to fix the compensation for all elected <br />officials at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing date of <br />nominating petitions for terms beginning on the next succeeding 1st <br />day of January, and <br />WHEREAS, the date for filing nominating petitions for elected <br />officials in the City of North Olmsted is April 8, 1977, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish the <br />compensation for all elected officials in compliance with the Charter <br />requirements: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the salary to be paid to the President of <br />Council or t e term commencing January 1, 1978 and ending December <br />31, 1981, shall be $4,500.00 per year. <br />SECTION 2: That the compensation as specified in Section 1 <br />hereof is being established only for the purpose of complying with the <br />Charter requirements as outlined in Article IV, Section 6, and in <br />no way affects any of the other provisions of any ordinance relating <br />to the organizational chart of either administrative or legislative <br />officers. <br />SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it <br />is immediately necessary to comply with the requirements of the Charter <br />of the City of North Olmsted regarding the establishment of salaries <br />at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing of nominating petitions, <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />f <br />PASSED: `'~i6G,ct'.~~ 1, f ~J7 <br />ATTEST: <br />Nora T.
