CITY OF NORTH OLA?STED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 79-170 <br />BY: <br />? <br />A RESOLUTION NAMING THE CHRYSANTHEMUM MAXIMUM <br />(DAISY) THE OFFICIAL CITY FLOWER. <br />WHEREAS, legislation has heretofore been introduced naming <br />the yellow Marigold as the official City €lower, and <br />WHEREAS, a number of citizens have expressed an interest in <br />having the Chrysanthemum Maximum commonly known as the Daisy be the <br />official City flower, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the firm belief of the members of City Council <br />that this issue be debated long and hard so that in the ultimate <br />end the most hardy and beautiful flower will prevail, and <br />WHEREAS, even though some citizens of North Olmsted have <br />expressed the interest of having the dandelion be the City flower <br />because of its abundance and hardiness, this Council rejects such <br />an idea in that the dandelion can also be used as a vegetable, <br />and under no circumstances do the members of City Council feel <br />it appropriate that the City flower also be designated as a <br />vegetable. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RFSOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby designate the <br />Chrysant emum hlaximum (Daisy) the official City flower. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in <br />force from and after the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />FLORENCE CAMPBELL, CLERK OF COUNCIL <br />DEWEY H.
