CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 79- 166 <br />BY: <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROLMAp <br />AND FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO <br />PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS <br />AT THE INTERSECTION OF SPARKY LANE AND <br />BROOKPARK EXTENSION IN THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised by the Safety <br />Director that a traffic congestion problem is presently being <br />encountered in the area of the Brookpark Extension and Sparky Lane <br />due to the fact that access has been obtained off of Brookpark <br />Extension to the State Wholesale Store, and <br />WHEREAS, there is presently existing one stop sign located <br />on the southeast corner of Sparky Lane, and it is the desire of <br />this Council to make said intersection a four-way stop, and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the <br />maintenance of a traffic control map which said map can only be <br />amended by said Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and the same is <br />hereby aut orize?c and directed to amend the Traffic Control Map <br />and File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon the <br />placement of stop signs in the following locations: <br />On the northeast corner of Brookpark Extension <br />where the same intersects with Sparky Lane and <br />the Gold Circle Entrance Drive, thereby controlling <br />traffic travelling in a westerly direction on <br />Brookpark Extension, <br />on the southwest corner of Bookpark Extension <br />where the same intersects with Sparky Lane thereby <br />controlling traffic travelling in a easterly <br />direction on Brookpark Extension, and <br />the installation of a stop sign on the northwest <br />side of the Gold Circle Driveway, thereby controlling <br />traffic exiting from the Gold Circle Drive onto <br />Brookpark Extension. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby directed to <br />cause sai stop signs to be installed in accordance with the <br />provisions of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of <br />the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason <br />that the area wherein said stop signs are to be installed is <br />extremely congested, and further provided it receives the affirma- <br />tive vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval <br />by the Mayor.
