CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 79-160 <br />BY: <br />l <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY <br />OF THE STATE OF OHIO TO PERMIT THE BURN- <br />ING OF LEAVES DURING THB MONTHS OF <br />SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, AND NOVEMBER OF EACH <br />YEAR. <br />WHEREAS, the burning of leaves and other refuse are presently <br />prohibited by reason of the State Code, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that the burning <br />of leaves for a limited period of time each year will not be <br />detrimental to the environment, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to urge the State <br />Legislature to adopt legislation which would permit residents <br />throughout the State to burn leaves for the limited period each <br />year in the months of September, October, and November. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby urge the State <br />Legislature to adopt enabling legislation to permit residents <br />throughout the State of Ohio to burn leaves in the months of <br />September, October, and December of each year. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council, be and she is hereby <br />directed to send copies of this legislation to State Senator <br />Jerome Stano, State Senator, Paul hlatia, State Representative <br />James Betts, State Representative Rocco Colonna, the Ohio Municipal <br />League, and all municipalities located within Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution sha11 take effect and b.e in <br />force rom and after the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />FLORENCE CAMPBELL, CLERK OF COUNCIL DEWEY H.
