CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 79- 147 <br />BY: ? <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />MAP AND FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />TO PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF "NO <br />LEFT TURN" SIGNS IN THE AREA BETWEEN THE <br />NORTHEAST CORNER OF SPARKY LANE AND THE <br />NORTHWEST CORNER OF SILVERDALE ROAD ON <br />LORAIN ROAD IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />, <br />WHEREAS, this Council after careful consideration has <br />determined that the making of left hand turns between the area <br />of Sparky Lane and Silverdale Road is extremely hazardous, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to prohibit left <br />hand turns into and out of property along the aforementioned section, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for <br />tlie maintenance of a Traffic Control Map which said map can be <br />amended only by ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF N:ORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and the same is <br />hereby aut orized and directed to amend the Traffic Control Map <br />and File of the City of North 0lmsted to indicate thereon the <br />prohibition of left hand turns for Lorain Road traffic traveling <br />in an easterly direction on Lorain Road between the northeast corner <br />of Sparky Lane and the northwest corner of Silverdale Road in the <br />City of North Olmsted together with the prohibition of left hand <br />turns out of properties on the north side of Lorain Road between <br />the northeast corner of Sparky Lane and the northwest corner of <br />Silverdale Road. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized <br />and directe to cause said "No Left Hand Turn" signs to be installed <br />in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that <br />the making of left hand turns has caused peril to life and property <br />because of the congested state of the intersection of Lorain Road <br />and Brookpark Road, and further provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by <br />the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />FLORENCE C PBELL, CLERK OF COUNCIL EWE H.
