CITY OF NORTH OIYST'EP <br />ORDINANCE N0. 79- 116 <br />BY : A-Zi? <br />AN pRDINpNCB APPROVING A MEh'IORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />WI'TH THE AMERICAN.FEDERATION (1F STATE, COtKTY AND <br />MUNICIPAL F.MPLOYEES, ESTABLISHING 'IHF REP•'IiJNERATION <br />FOR CERTAIN aIPLOYEES IN '1HE PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION <br />OF THE DEPAR'IMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE OF TI-IE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMST'ED, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 77-170 <br />FTIACTED OCTOBER 18, 1977, AND DECLkRING AN alERGENCY. <br />WI-ERF,qS, the City has entered into Memoranda of Understanding with the <br />American Federation of State, Cowzty and T'funicipal Fmployees with respect to <br />the compensation and other conditions of emDloyment of certain employees in <br />the Public Works Division of the Department of Public Service of the City of <br />North Olmsted, said rlemorande uthorize <br />Sentember 18, 1973, Ordlnanc <br />Ordinance No. 77-170, enacted October 18, 1977, and <br />µ'1EREAS, -oursuant to the nrovisions of the MemorandLUn of Understanding <br />nrovided for and incornorated in C7rdinance No. 77-170, discussions have been <br />conducted by the representatives of the City and representatives of the <br />American Federation ohe S?emorand t ofaUnderstanding?and ees concerning revisions <br />in and a reneival of t <br />bNEF-REpS, understandi.ngs have been reached in the course of said dis- <br />cussions tivith respect to the compensation and other conditions of employment <br />of the emnloyees aforementioned. <br />NOtnT, THFREFORE, BE IT OFDAINED BY THE COtNCIL OF 'I'HF CITY nF NOPTH <br />OLM.STED, COUNTY OF CUYAHCGA ANn STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Memorandum of Understanding with the American <br />Federation of State, County and Pfianicipal Employees, attached hereto and made <br />a part hereof as though fully incornorated herein, is hereby adopted, ratified <br />and approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to affix his <br />signature thereto for and on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SEC'TION 2: That all other ordinances or resolutions or parts of ordinances <br />or parts o resolutions inconsistent herewith to the provisions of this ordinance <br />and especially Ordinance No. 77-170, enacted on the 18th day of October, 1977, <br />are hereby repealed taith the effective date of this ordinance to the extent that <br />they pertain to employees in the bargaining unit covered by the Memorandum of <br />Understanding and are inconsistent with this ordinance including the Memorandum <br />of linderstanding attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br />SECTION 3: That the Clerk of Cotmcil is hereby instructed to fonaard a <br />copy o t is or inance to the Director of Public Service and to the Director of <br />Finance in order that the Director of Finance can pay the compensation authorized <br />by this ordinance and the Memorandum of L?nderstanding attached hereto and made a <br />Part hereof. <br />SECTION 4: That this Qrdinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary or t e preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of <br />the City by virtue of the fact of the imediate necessity of adjusting to the <br />requirements of the various j obs. WI-EREFORE, this Ordinance shall tal:e effect <br />and be in force irrunediately upon its passage, otherwise at the earliest ueriod <br />allowed by law. - <br />, <br />_.,,..
