CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO . 7 6- <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE <br />APPLICATION AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH <br />THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION, FOR A <br />GRANT FOR NEW SERVICE FACILITIES, AND DE- <br />CLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the operation of the City of North Olmsted <br />Service Department is being hampered due to inadequate Service <br />Department facilities, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted does not have suf- <br />ficient funds or the bonding capacity on hand to meet the <br />needs of the City for the construction of and equipment for <br />such a facility, and <br />WHEREAS, the United States Government, through the <br />United States Department of Commerce, Economic Development <br />Administration, has made funds available through P.L. 94-369 <br />Sec. 107 for the purpose of providing financial assistance to <br />various government jurisdictions, and <br />WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Administration, <br />this Council deems it to be in the best interest of the resi- <br />dents of the City of North Olmsted to authorize the Mayor to <br />make application for and enter into an agreement with the <br />United States Department of Commerce for a federal grant for <br />the purpose of acquiring new service facilities, <br />NOW THEREFORF,~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUy.PiHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />make application to the United States Department of Commerce <br />for federal funds to assist the City'of North Olmsted in the <br />acquisition of new Service Facilities. <br />Section 2: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />execute a contract with the United States Department of Com- <br />merce for the processing of financial assistance. <br />Section 3: That this resolution is hereby declared to <br />be an emergency measure immediately necessary for .the preserva- <br />tion of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the fur- <br />ther reason that it is immediately necessary to provide new <br />facilities to replace old inadequate facilities, so as to provide <br />the needed efficient services to the citizens of North Olmsted, <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- <br />thirds of all members elected to Council it shall take effect and <br />be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />PASSED : !C~ ~ 7 ~,'~ <br />Attest: ~~ <br />/ I ~ c ~' <br />Nora T.
