CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 76 - 128 BY : MRS . SHARPE AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE ELECTORATE OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED WHEREAS, a petition signed by at least ten percent of_ the electors of the City of North Olmsted calling for an election whether Section 2 of Article 7 of the municipal charter shall be amended to read as hereinafter set forth has been submitted to Council and found sufficient according to law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the question of the amendment of Article action 2 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted so that as amended the same shall be and read as follows: (In accordance with the lan ua e romul ated b Petition. signed y at least ten percent of the electors of the Cit~of_ North Olmsted which has been found sufficient according_.to law, said Petition cor~aining said language being attached_ ereto an ma e a art hereof as if full rewritten herein_ an mar e x i it , e submitted to a vote of the qualified e actors o t e ity at the General Election to be held on Tuesday, the second day of November, 1976, at the regular places of voting in the City during the hours established by the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County. SECTION 2: That the ballots for said election shall at the top ther~~e entitled "City Charter Amendment Ballot" and the question to be submitted on said ballot shall be in the words following; "Shall the proposed amendment to Article 7, Section 2 of the Charter o_f the City of North Olmsted be amended as follows: ARTICLE VII BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS Section 2; PLANNING COMMISSION (a) Membershi The Planning Commission shall consist of seven (7) members, ap- po nte3 by the Mayor, subject to the approval of a majo- rity of the elected members of the Council. All members of the Commis- sion shall serve without compensation. The members shall be appointed by the Mayor for terms of five years each, except that members first appointed, shall be appointed - one for a term of one year, one for a term of two years, one for a term of three years, one for a term of four years; and three for a term of five years, and upon the expiration of said term of office of a member o_f the Commission, his successor shall be appointed for a term of five years. A vacancy occurring during the term of any member of the Planning Commission shall be filled for the unexpired term in the manner authorized for an original appointment. The Mayor shall have the right to remove an appointed member f.or cause with the approval of. two-thixds (2/3) of the elected members of the Council.
