SHARPE <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION <br />TO THE ELECTORATE OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />CHARTER OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />WHEREAS, a petition signed by at least ten percent of_ <br />the electors of the City of North Olmsted calling for an <br />election whether Section 2 of Article 7 of the municipal <br />charter shall be amended to read as hereinafter set forth <br />has been submitted to Council and found sufficient according <br />to law. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the question of the amendment of <br />Article action 2 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted <br />so that as amended the same shall be and read as follows: <br />(In accordance with the lan ua e romul ated b Petition. <br />signed y at least ten percent of the electors of the Cit~of_ <br />North Olmsted which has been found sufficient according_.to <br />law, said Petition cor~aining said language being attached_ <br />ereto an ma e a art hereof as if full rewritten herein_ <br />an mar e x i it , e submitted to a vote of the qualified <br />e actors o t e ity at the General Election to be held on <br />Tuesday, the second day of November, 1976, at the regular places <br />of voting in the City during the hours established by the Board <br />of Elections of Cuyahoga County. <br />SECTION 2: That the ballots for said election shall at the <br />top ther~~e entitled "City Charter Amendment Ballot" and <br />the question to be submitted on said ballot shall be in the words <br />following; <br />"Shall the proposed amendment to Article 7, Section 2 of <br />the Charter o_f the City of North Olmsted be amended as follows: <br />ARTICLE VII <br />BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Section 2; PLANNING COMMISSION <br />(a) Membershi The Planning Commission shall consist of seven <br />(7) members, ap- po nte3 by the Mayor, subject to the approval of a majo- <br />rity of the elected members of the Council. All members of the Commis- <br />sion shall serve without compensation. The members shall be appointed <br />by the Mayor for terms of five years each, except that members first <br />appointed, shall be appointed - one for a term of one year, one for a <br />term of two years, one for a term of three years, one for a term of four <br />years; and three for a term of five years, and upon the expiration of <br />said term of office of a member o_f the Commission, his successor shall <br />be appointed for a term of five years. A vacancy occurring during the <br />term of any member of the Planning Commission shall be filled for the <br />unexpired term in the manner authorized for an original appointment. <br />The Mayor shall have the right to remove an appointed member f.or cause <br />with the approval of. two-thixds (2/3) of the elected members of the <br />Council. <br />
