CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 76 - 116 BY: Mr. Wilamosky AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR THE PAYMENT OF ACCUMULATED SICK LEAVE TIME UPON THE RETIREMENT OR DEATH OF ALL FULL TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED WHO HAVE AT LEAST TEN YEARS SERVICE TIME, AS AMENDED. WHEREAS, this Council heretofore established and adopted a sick-leave policy for all full-time employees of the City of North Olmsted, and WHEREAS, this Council has further augmented the sick-leave policy by providing for a maximum amount to be paid full-time employees upon retirement or death after 10 years of service for unused, accumulated sick-leave time, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to increase the maximum amount to be paid to full-time employees with at least 10 years of service for unused, accumulated sick-leave time, upon retirement or death. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: That unused accumulated sick-leave time in accor ance wit the provisions of Ordinance No. 76-113 may be converted at the time of retirement or death for all full-time employees with 10 or more years of_ service. SECTION 2: That the payment for all those who c{ualify under Section 1 'fereof shall be based upon the rate of pay at the time of retirement or death., and payments shall amount to one-fourth (1/4) of the unused, accumulated sick-leave time, but in all instances the maximum amount paid shall not exceed an amount in excess o_f an accumulation of thirty (30) days at the employee's rate at the time of retirement or death. SECTION 3: That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force~rom an~after the earliest period allowed by law.
