CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 76 - 81 <br />BY: <br />MR. WEST <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PUBLIC SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR <br />REPAIRS TO SANITARY SEWERS, AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, the Engineering Department of the City of North <br />Olmsted has condudted a thorough investigation of the sanitary <br />sewers in the north-eastern quadrant of the City, and <br />WHEREAS, after having conducted said investigation, the <br />Engineering Department has determined that there are numerous <br />breaks which presently require repair so that the City may <br />effectively control the seepage of storm water into the sanitary <br />sewer system, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the repairs are <br />necessary to protect the safety, health and welfare of the citizens <br />of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service is hereby <br />authorized to advertise for bids for the repairs of certain sanitary <br />sewers located in the City of North Olmsted and designated as sewer <br />repair contract No. 5. The inspection reports, records and bid <br />specifications are on file in the office of the Director of Public <br />Service. <br />SECTION 2: That upon approval of the Board of Control, the Mayor <br />be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the <br />lowest and best bidder and he shall execute any and all documents <br />on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety, and welfare and for the further reason that it <br />is immediately necessary to protect the general health of the area <br />residents affected by said breaks, and further provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : Qsr,~c,~, ~ / f 7~ <br />ATTEST: !~ <br />NORA T.
