CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 76 - '~ <br />BY: <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO ENTER <br />INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO DEPART- <br />MENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR UP-GRADING <br />OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS AND DEVICES, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation, <br />has agreed to participate with the City of North Olmsted in the <br />up-grading of signs and traffic control devices so that the <br />present signs and traffic control devices are conformed to the <br />Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and <br />WHEREAS, the financial p. <br />would require the City of North <br />the total cost and the State of <br />of the total cost, and <br />WHEREAS, it is estimated <br />project would be forty thousand <br />~rticipation in such a project <br />Olmsted to pay ten percent of <br />Ohio would pay ninety percent <br />that the total cost of the <br />dollars ($40,000.00), and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to up-grade signs <br />and traffic control devices within the City of North Olmsted and <br />to evidence that desire by authorizing the Mayor to enter into an <br />agreement with the State of Ohio in a program of participation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized <br />to enter into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation <br />for the purpose of up-grading signs and traffic control devices <br />within the City of North Olmsted, which up-grading shall be in <br />compliance with the Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices <br />with the cost of said program being ten percent participation by <br />the City of North Olmsted and ninety percent participation by the <br />State of Ohio, Department of Transportation. Said agreement shall <br />be substantially as that set out in Exhibit A, attached hereto <br />and made a part hereof. <br />SECTION 2: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of <br />the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason <br />that it is immediately necessary to conform all signs and traffic <br />control devices in accordance with the Ohio Manual of Uniform <br />Traffic Control Devices, and further provided it receives the affir- <br />mative vote of two0thirds of all members elected to Council, it <br />shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED : G ~'~ <br />ATTE3ST : ~ ,~ ~~ <br />NORA T.
