CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED // <br />RESOLUTION N0. 74 - ~,~(~ <br />BY: ~ • <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE OF OHIO <br />DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS TO REVIEW THE PLANS <br />AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PROPOSED RE- <br />LOCATION OF STATE ROUTE 17 - BROOKPARK ROAD, <br />AiJD DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, .the owners and developers of the Great Northern Shopping <br />Center have prepared plans and specifications for the proposed relocation <br />of State Route 17, and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration of the City of North Olmsted has <br />reviewed said plans and approves the general principle of re-location, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Council and Administration desire to co-ordinate the <br />proposed relocation of State Route 17 in conjunction with the .proposed <br />extension of State Route 17 by the City of North Olmsted which is <br />situated on the north side of Lorain Road, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council and Administration urge the State of Ohio, <br />Department of Highways to review the plans and specifications for the <br />proposed relocation of State Route 17 for acceptability of design and <br />standards; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Council and Administration of the City of <br />North Olmsted hereby request the State of Ohio Department of Highways <br />to review the plans and specifications of the proposed relocation of <br />State Route 17 for acceptability of design and standards. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed <br />to forward a copy of this resolution to the State of Ohio Department of <br />Highways, State Representatives from District No. 3 and No. 4, State <br />Senators from District 24 and District 25. <br />SECTION 3: That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it <br />is necessary to coordinate the relocation of State Route 17 with the <br />extension of State Route 17 to alleviate traffic congestion, and further <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ~,re,~,,,, / ~~ <br />ATTEST: <br />~u:cr[~~ <br />NbRA T.
